The Scripture
(8) For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
The psalmist describes the Lord's judgment on the wicked, who will be cast down and their lives will be cut short. He contrasts this with the blessed fate of the righteous, who will be lifted up and enjoy their prosperity. The chapter teaches that God's justice is swift and that the wicked face inevitable ruin.
