Psalms 106:39
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Psalm 106 is a historical confession psalm that recounts Israel's long history of rebellion alongside God's enduring mercy, beginning with a call to give thanks and to remember the mighty acts of the Lord. It chronicles Israel's sins-their craving at the Red Sea, the golden calf at Horeb, the murmurings, the rebellion at Kadesh, and their idolatry even to sacrificing their children-each followed by God's judgments and His repeated deliverance for His name's sake. The psalm closes with the people's plea that God would save and gather them from among the nations, and a doxology blessing the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting, with all the people saying Amen.
