Numbers 15:39
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Numbers 15 gives laws for the offerings the Israelites are to present once they enter the promised land, including grain and drink offerings paired with burnt and peace sacrifices, with one law for both Israelites and foreigners. It distinguishes between unintentional sins, for which a sin offering makes atonement, and presumptuous sins, for which the offender is cut off - illustrated by the man stoned for gathering sticks on the Sabbath. The chapter closes with the command to wear tassels with a blue thread on the corners of their garments as a lifelong reminder to obey all God's commandments and be holy.
