Ezekiel 20:44

(44) And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Ezekiel 20 opens with elders coming to inquire of the Lord, who refuses and instead recounts Israel's long history of rebellion in Egypt and the wilderness, their idolatry, and profaning His Sabbaths. He withheld His fury for His name's sake among the nations, though He purposed judgment. The chapter closes with the promise to gather and purge Israel and a parable of an unquenchable fire consuming the southern forest.
