Ezekiel 20:38
The Scripture
(38) And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that transgress against me: I will bring them forth out of the country where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Ezekiel 20 opens with elders coming to inquire of the Lord, who refuses and instead recounts Israel's long history of rebellion in Egypt and the wilderness, their idolatry, and profaning His Sabbaths. He withheld His fury for His name's sake among the nations, though He purposed judgment. The chapter closes with the promise to gather and purge Israel and a parable of an unquenchable fire consuming the southern forest.
