The Scripture
(20) After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.

Josiah kept a great Passover in Jerusalem unlike any since the days of Samuel, organizing the priests and Levites and providing abundant animals for the sacrifices. Josiah later went to battle against Pharaoh Necho at Megiddo against the pharaoh's warning and was fatally wounded, dying to the great mourning of all Judah and Jerusalem.
