Psalm 104 is a magnificent hymn of creation in which the psalmist blesses the Lord, who is clothed with honor and majesty, who stretches out the heavens, lays the beams of His chambers in the waters, makes the clouds His chariot, and walks on the wings of the wind. It traces God's provision through the springs, trees, mountains, wild beasts, the moon and sun for seasons, and the sea with its teeming life, all depending on Him for food and breath. The psalmist resolves to sing to the Lord as long as he lives, to make his meditation sweet, and to call on sinners to be consumed from the earth, closing with a call to bless the Lord and praise His holy name.
