The Scripture
(20) And the priest shall wave them for a wave offering before the LORD: this is holy for the priest, with the wave breast and heave shoulder: and after that the Nazarite may drink wine.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers chapter 6 the Israelites are instructed to bring a lamb for each person to the tabernacle, and Moses will strike the lamb with a spear. The act is meant to show that the people will be willing to sacrifice themselves for the community. This chapter emphasizes obedience to divine command and the value of communal sacrifice.
