(19) And the priest shall take the sodden shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them upon the hands of the Nazarite, after the hair of his separation is shaven:
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers chapter 6 the Israelites are instructed to bring a lamb for each person to the tabernacle, and Moses will strike the lamb with a spear. The act is meant to show that the people will be willing to sacrifice themselves for the community. This chapter emphasizes obedience to divine command and the value of communal sacrifice.
