The Scripture
(47) Even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers 31 the Israelites fight the Canaanite kings Sihon of Bashan and Og of Bashan, who had been raiding their territory. The battle ends with the death of both kings and the Israelites taking the land as their own. This chapter highlights God’s provision of victory and the fulfillment of the promise to give the land to the Israelites.
