(18) But thou must eat them before the LORD thy God in the place which the LORD thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy manservant, and thy maidservant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before the LORD thy God in all that thou puttest thine hands unto.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)

Deuteronomy 12 commands Israel, once they enter the land, to destroy all the places where the nations served their gods and to overthrow their altars and images, and not to worship the Lord in that way. Instead they are to bring their offerings to the place the Lord will choose to put His name, and to rejoice there before Him with their households and the Levites. The chapter closes by warning them not to enquire after the gods of those nations or to add to or diminish from what the Lord commands.
