The Scripture
(30) And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers 31 the Israelites fight the Canaanite kings Sihon of Bashan and Og of Bashan, who had been raiding their territory. The battle ends with the death of both kings and the Israelites taking the land as their own. This chapter highlights God’s provision of victory and the fulfillment of the promise to give the land to the Israelites.
