The Scripture
(8) But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter Jeremiah declares that the people of Judah have sinned and will be punished, and that the king of Babylon will bring judgment. He emphasizes that the nation's wickedness has led to its destruction and that only God can rescue them. The chapter ends with a warning that the time of judgment is near.
