Job 35 records Elihu's challenge to Job's claim that his righteousness exceeds God's, arguing that human sin or righteousness does not profit the Almighty either way, though it does affect one's fellow man. He observes that people cry out in pain but do not seek God who gives songs in the night, and that God does not answer because of pride. Elihu concludes that although Job claims he cannot see God, judgment is still before Him and Job should trust Him, and he asserts that Job opens his mouth in vain, multiplying words without knowledge.
