Bible Cross-References
Every verse in every chapter carries its own cross-reference panel while you read — no separate lookup required.
Open any chapter in the Reader and each verse includes a collapsible Cross-references panel right beneath it — two complementary sources merged into one view: the classic Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (a 19th-century, scholar-compiled reference work linking related passages) and algorithmically related verses found by shared language across the KJV text. Expand a panel to read the connected verses inline, or use the toggle in the reading toolbar to show cross-reference links for the whole chapter at once.
Cross-references show up two ways on BibleText.com, depending on how you like to study: reading a chapter straight through with connected verses surfacing verse-by-verse as you go, or searching for a specific verse and seeing its full cross-reference set returned alongside the result.
- Treasury of Scripture Knowledge — a long-standing, widely used cross-reference compilation, matched to the exact verse you're reading.
- Algorithmically related verses — additional passages surfaced by shared wording, catching connections the classic reference set doesn't list.
- While reading — open a chapter and expand any verse's panel inline, or show links for the whole chapter at once.
- While searching — look up a verse or keyword and get its cross-references right in the results, no reading required.
- Collect what you find — pull cross-referenced verses straight into a Verse Collection without leaving the chapter.
