(5) Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

The psalm describes God’s care for the righteous, likening His protection to a hen that guards her chicks in her nest. It says He will shelter them in His house, cover them with a cloud, and keep them safe from harm. The overall teaching is that God’s love and protection are constant for those who trust Him.
