(7) Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

In Psalm 4 the psalmist prays for God’s protection from the wicked and from the threat of the lion and the man of malice. He asks God to keep him safe from harm and to give him peace and confidence in the Lord. The chapter emphasizes trusting God’s faithfulness amid danger and seeking refuge.
