Psalm 149 is a psalm of praise calling the congregation of saints to sing to the Lord a new song and to rejoice in their Maker and King, praising His name with dance, timbrel, and harp. It celebrates that the Lord takes pleasure in His people and will beautify the meek with salvation, and urges the saints to be joyful in glory and to sing aloud on their beds. The psalm closes with a striking call for God's people to execute vengeance and judgment on the nations and their kings—to bind their nobles with chains and fetters of iron, and to execute the written judgment—declaring this honor belongs to all His saints, praise ye the Lord.
