Psalm 141 is a Davidic psalm pleading for the Lord to hurry to him and to receive his prayer as incense and the lifting of his hands as the evening sacrifice. He asks God to set a watch before his mouth and to keep the door of his lips, and to incline his heart away from evil and from the dainties of the wicked. The psalmist welcomes the rebuke of the righteous as excellent oil that will not break his head, and he fixes his eyes on the Lord, trusting Him not to leave his soul destitute, asking to be kept from the snares of the wicked and for the wicked to fall into their own nets while he escapes.
