Psalm 132 is a song of degrees that recalls David's fervent vow not to enter his house or sleep until he had found a dwelling place for the mighty God of Jacob, and it urges the Lord to remember David's afflictions. It recounts the bringing of the ark to Ephratah and the fields of the wood, where the people worshiped and the Lord chose to dwell. The psalm closes with God's oath to David—an eternal throne if his sons keep the covenant—and His choice of Zion as His resting place, where He will clothe her priests with salvation, make the horn of David to bud, and crown him while shaming his enemies.
