The Scripture
(5) And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.

In Numbers chapter 9 the Israelites are afflicted by a plague that strikes those who have not obeyed God’s command to bring the tenth part of their harvest to the altar.
