The Scripture
(18) On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Numbers chapter 2 Moses tells the Israelites to camp at the Jordan River, assigning each tribe its own camp except Judah and Benjamin who are to encamp at the Jordan. The chapter emphasizes obedience to God’s directions and the importance of proper division of the camp to maintain order. It also warns that disobedience will lead to loss of the promised land.
