(21) So we laboured in the work: and half of them held the spears from the rising of the morning till the stars appeared.

Nehemiah 4 describes the people of Jerusalem who have returned from exile and are facing a severe famine with little food and unfinished walls. They complain to their leaders that there is no provision and pray for help, and God answers by sending a great harvest to feed them.
