Matthew 1:7

Matthew Chapter 1 presents a genealogy that traces Jesus back to Abraham, emphasizing that the Messiah is a descendant of the line of David. It then moves to the family of Joseph, showing how Jesus is the son of Mary, a descendant of King David, and underscores the fulfillment of God’s promises. The chapter sets the stage for Jesus’ identity as the promised King, linking his birth to Israel’s historical and religious heritage.
