(42) And as soon as he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.

In Mark Chapter 1 Jesus begins his ministry by calling four fishermen to become his disciples. He sends them away and later returns to Capernaum where he teaches, heals, and performs signs that demonstrate his authority. The chapter sets the pattern of Jesus' call, teaching, and miracles that will define his ministry.
