(40) And there came a leper to him, beseeching him, and kneeling down to him, and saying unto him, If thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

In Mark Chapter 1 Jesus begins his ministry by calling four fishermen to become his disciples. He sends them away and later returns to Capernaum where he teaches, heals, and performs signs that demonstrate his authority. The chapter sets the pattern of Jesus' call, teaching, and miracles that will define his ministry.
