The Scripture
(10) Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.

In chapter 1 the Lord rebukes the people of Israel for their rebellion and lack of reverence, reminding them that He is the true God and that they have turned away from Him. The chapter also calls for repentance and a return to God's covenant, warning that He will judge them for their disobedience.
