Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Luke 18 opens with the parables of the persistent widow and the Pharisee and the publican, teaching persistence in prayer and humility before God. Jesus then blesses little children, challenges the rich young ruler to sell all and follow him, and promises reward to those who leave everything for the kingdom. The chapter closes with Jesus foretelling his death and resurrection and healing a blind beggar near Jericho who calls him the Son of David.
