The Scripture
(11) And he sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times, and anointed the altar and all his vessels, both the laver and his foot, to sanctify them.

In this chapter Aaron and his sons are appointed as priests, and Aaron is formally called to serve as high priest. He is anointed with oil, given the priestly garments, and instructed on his duties, while his sons are also designated as priests. The chapter sets the foundation for the priestly lineage and the sacred responsibilities of the priesthood.
