The Scripture
(9) And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river: these cities of Ephraim are among the cities of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it were at the sea:
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter the Israelites finish their campaign in Canaan, driving out the remaining Amorite cities and securing the land for themselves. The narrative emphasizes that God has delivered the people as He promised, and there is no further need for war. The conquest is portrayed as a divine act completed, leaving the land ready for the promised inheritance.
