The Scripture
(19) The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.

Job continues his sorrow after his friends have left, and he declares that he will curse the day of his birth and the day of his life. He reflects that his friends are gone and wonders why God allows such loss. The chapter shows his deep grief and his questioning of divine justice.
