The Scripture
(22) Speak, Thus saith the LORD, Even the carcases of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, and as the handful after the harvestman, and none shall gather them.

Jeremiah warns the people of Judah that they have abandoned God and worshipped false gods, building high places and sacrificing to them. He declares that God will punish them with disaster and that only true devotion to Him will bring salvation. The chapter stresses the danger of idolatry and the need for sincere repentance.
