The Scripture
(6) And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

In this chapter Jeremiah declares that the people of Judah have sinned and will be punished, and that the king of Babylon will bring judgment. He emphasizes that the nation's wickedness has led to its destruction and that only God can rescue them. The chapter ends with a warning that the time of judgment is near.
