The Scripture
(28) This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:

In this chapter Jeremiah declares that the people of Judah have sinned and will be punished, and that the king of Babylon will bring judgment. He emphasizes that the nation's wickedness has led to its destruction and that only God can rescue them. The chapter ends with a warning that the time of judgment is near.
