The Scripture
(16) But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.

In this chapter Jeremiah declares that the people of Judah have sinned and will be punished, and that the king of Babylon will bring judgment. He emphasizes that the nation's wickedness has led to its destruction and that only God can rescue them. The chapter ends with a warning that the time of judgment is near.
