(7) Nevertheless hear thou now this word that I speak in thine ears, and in the ears of all the people;

In this chapter Jeremiah records the people's continued devotion to false gods despite the king's decree, and he warns that they will face divine judgment for their unfaithfulness. He also emphasizes the need for true worship of the Lord and the danger of following deceitful prophets.
