Jeremiah 19:13
The Scripture
(13) And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Jeremiah is sent to the city of Nineveh to warn its people of God’s impending judgment, and they respond with repentance. Though they turn away from sin, God promises not to hold them forever in anger. This chapter shows that God’s judgment is certain, but His mercy can be shown to those who seek forgiveness.
