Isaiah 47:14
The Scripture
(14) Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In Isaiah 47 the prophet declares that God will deliver Israel from the hand of the enemy and will give them the land of the north as a reward. He also promises that the nations will be humbled and that the temple will be a place of honor. The chapter emphasizes God’s sovereignty and the ultimate triumph of His people.
