The Scripture
(16) And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.

Jacob travels to Bethlehem and meets Rachel, the daughter of Bethlehem and the wife of his uncle Laban. He tells his father Isaac that he will give his brother Esau to Rachel, and they marry, beginning a pattern of deception that will continue throughout the chapter.
