The Scripture
(8) And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.

Abraham, now a hundred years old, is given a promise by God that he will inherit the land of Canaan. He and his family travel to the site of the promised land, find a rock, plant a tree, and build an altar. The chapter shows God’s faithfulness and the beginning of Abraham’s obedience to the covenant.
