(27) And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.

In Genesis 21 Jacob’s son Joseph is born to his wife Rachel and the family celebrates the occasion with a feast. The chapter also records the jealousy of his half‑brother Joseph, who is left behind, and Jacob’s later decision to send away his firstborn. These events highlight the tension between family loyalty and divine providence.
