Ezekiel 5:11
The Scripture
(11) Wherefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD; Surely, because thou hast defiled my sanctuary with all thy detestable things, and with all thine abominations, therefore will I also diminish thee; neither shall mine eye spare, neither will I have any pity.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Ezekiel 5 opens with the prophet shaving his head and beard and dividing the hair into thirds-burned, struck with a knife, and scattered to the wind-as a sign of Jerusalem's coming judgment. The Lord explains that the city's wickedness exceeds the surrounding nations, bringing famine, sword, and pestilence. The chapter closes declaring these judgments a reproach to the nations and a warning of further evil to come.
