The Scripture
(2) And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, whereunto the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
In this chapter the king orders Haman to be hanged for his treachery, and Mordecai publicly praises Esther for saving the Jews. Esther is then given gifts of gold and jewels as a reward for her faithfulness. The chapter ends with the king’s decree that Haman’s feast is to be observed, but the Jews are protected.
