Deuteronomy 8:2
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Deuteronomy 8 calls Israel to remember the whole forty-year journey in the wilderness, where the Lord humbled, tested, and fed them with manna to teach that man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. It urges them, once they enter a rich land and eat and are full, to remember that the Lord gives the power to get wealth, and to bless Him for the land. The chapter closes with a warning that if they forget the Lord, follow other gods, and worship them, they will surely perish like the nations the Lord destroys before them.
