II Kings 7:5
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Second Kings 7 records Elisha's prophecy that the next day fine flour and barley would sell cheaply in the gate of besieged Samaria, which a skeptical lord scoffs at-only to see it but not eat of it. That night four leprous men at the gate decide to surrender to the Syrian camp rather than starve, and find it deserted because the Lord had made the Syrians hear the sound of a great army and flee, abandoning everything. The people plunder the camp, fulfilling Elisha's word, and the skeptical lord is trampled to death in the gate exactly as the man of God had said.
