The Scripture
(23) In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Amaziah of Judah defeated Edom but then foolishly challenged Jehoash of Israel to battle, who warned him with the parable of the thistle and the cedar before defeating Judah and breaking down Jerusalem's wall. The chapter also records the reigns of Jeroboam II in Israel, who restored Israel's border, and Amaziah's eventual assassination.
