The Scripture
(9) And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold.

Solomon began building the house of the LORD at Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, overlaying the porch, walls, and most holy place with pure gold and adorning it with precious stones. He also made two large cherubim of gold to stand in the most holy place, their wings stretching across the width of the room.
