II Chronicles 29:26
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Second Chronicles 29 opens the account of King Hezekiah's reign, one of Judah's most righteous kings, who immediately reopened and repaired the temple doors that his father Ahaz had sealed shut. He called the Levites to consecrate themselves and purify the sanctuary, which they accomplished over sixteen days by removing all the unclean things that had accumulated during the years of neglect. Hezekiah then led a great ceremony of burnt offerings and sin offerings on behalf of all Israel, accompanied by the musical instruments of David, restoring joyful worship and covenant fellowship with God.
