II Chronicles 2:7
The Scripture
Chapter overview (whole chapter)
Second Chronicles 2 records Solomon's determination to build a house for the name of the Lord and a palace for his kingdom, and his numbering of over a hundred and fifty thousand laborers and overseers from the foreigners in Israel. He sends to Huram king of Tyre, asking for a skilled craftsman and for cedar and fir timbers, promising abundant wheat, barley, wine, and oil for Tyre's workers. Huram gladly supplies the materials and the master craftsman Huram-abi, and Solomon sets the levied laborers to bear burdens, hew stone, and oversee the work.
