(5) Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the LORD, removing idols and high places from Judah, and he strengthened the kingdom with fortified cities and a large army. When Zerah the Ethiopian came against Judah with a vast army, Asa cried out to the LORD for help, and the LORD struck down the Ethiopians before Judah in a great victory.
